Star Wars 1313 Leaked Screenshot Suggests It Starred Boba Fett

Star War 1313 remains not only one of gaming’s most famous cancelled projects but an essential piece of video game and Star Wars history. That’s an impressive legacy for a game that we honestly don’t know that much about. Fortunately, a recently leaked screenshot may reveal a big piece of the Star Wars 1313 puzzle.

The screenshot in question, which appears to have been first shared via Reddit, showcases a character standing in front of a sweeping sci-fi cityscape. Said character’s appearance and clothing would certainly seem to hint that he is no other than fabled Star Wars bounty hunter, Boba Fett. The framing of the shot indicates that Fett would have been the game’s playable protagonist.

There are a couple of things about this screenshot that we should probably get out of the way now. The first is that the source of this screenshot (and therefore its legitimacy) has not been confirmed beyond any doubt. As such, take it with a grain of salt. The second point worth noting is that nobody has officially confirmed that the individual in that screenshot is Boba Fett. As we’ve since seen in The Mandalorian, there are certainly other possibilities as it concerns the identity of the mysterious figure.

That said, the notion that Star Wars 1313 starred some kind of bounty hunter (if not Boba Fett himself) is basically undisputed at this point. Previously leaked footage and comments made about the game essentially confirmed that it would have seen players assume the role of an intergalactic bounty hunter tasked with navigating Star Wars‘ underworld. Those close to the project have sent conflicting messages over whether or not you’d actually play as Boba Fett, though, or whether or not he would be in the game in any notable capacity. George Lucas and others hinted that was the case, but some have strongly indicated that the protagonist was a set to be a new character. It also seems that plans may have gone back-and-forth over the course of the game’s development.
