Riverdale Season 4 Trailer

The first trailer for Riverdale season 4 has arrived! After opening with the show’s touching Luke Perry salute, it moves into some of the more salient plot points to expect from season 4.

Riverdale Season 4 Cast

At San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Riverdale producers confirmed that Shannen Doherty will be guest starring in the Luke Perry tribute, which is also the first episode of the season.

“They were such good friends, and when we were putting together this tribute episode, we wanted to make it as special as possible, and so we asked Shannen to do a pivotal, super-emotional role,” producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said. “She read the script and immediately said ‘yes.’ It’s very impactful.”

Also revealed at SDCC 2019 is that Kerr Smith will be joining the Riverdale season 4 cast as new principal Mr. Honey.

Ashleigh Murray, who plays Josie, will be leaving Riverdale to star on spinoff Katy KeeneDeadline has also confirmed that Wyatt Nash, aka Charles, an FBI agent investigating The Farm and Alice and FP’s long lost son, will be back for Season 4.

Riverdale Season 4 Plot

At Riverdale‘s SDCC 2019 panel, producers revealed some plot points that we’ll see in season 4. For starters, they’re not going to let The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina have all the fun. Riverdale will be getting its own Halloween special this year. You can read more about that—and this season’s musical episode—here.

Also on the docket is Jughead moving to a new prep school, Archie starting a band (called “The Archies” naturally), and Veronica and Cheryl will start a maple syryp rum-running business.
